- as well as expanding opportunities for refugees to actively participate in our society

Our services include

As we work on a voluntary basis, our ability to provide individual support is limited. Our services vary depending on the time and energy of our members and the amount of donations we receive.

Our self-concept
According to UNHCR there are more than 51 million refugees worldwide. They are fleeing from war, environmental catastrophes, hunger, poverty and from political, ethnic, religious and gender specific persecution. Only a small minority of those people manage to arrive in Germany to apply for asylum.
Living under the constant fear of deportation and being faced with extremely difficult social and cultural conditions, they are living within our community for many years. Refugees are people in need with a need for support and understanding.
The Arbeitskreis Asyl Schwäbisch Gmünd takes a part of this worldwide social responsibility. We are a non-profitable legal organisation, which is working independent from the local authorities. Our aim is to improve the living conditions of refugees in Ostalbkreis by building strong links with other human organizations and seeking conversations with public institutions. During conflicts and challenging situations, we rely exclusively on factual information, mutual exchange, differentiated perception and non violent actions at all times.
